Rik Bas Baker

Rik Bas Baker was born in Amsterdam in 1967. He graduated from The Fine Arts Academy in Arnhem. In 1989 he had an internship at Grapus under the supervision of Pier Bernar. In 1991 Rik moved to Paris where he started working at the studio of Francois Fabrizi.

Since 1995 he has been working as an independent artist. During the period from 1993 to 1995 he was teaching at the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens. From 2010 to 2014 he was teaching at The Amiens Fine Arts School.

He is a participant and a member of jury board of many international design exhibitions and conferences. Rik Bas Baker met his colleague Hose Albergardia in 2000 with whom he founded the “Change is Good” brand. In 2010 Rik Bas Baker was chosen as a member of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale). Baker has collaborated with very well-known art institutions such as Centre Pompidou, The Museum of Contemporary Arts in Paris, Philharmonie de Paris, Versailles Palace, National Museum of Natural History, Louis Vuitton Cultural Space, Cartier and others. Rik Bas Baker lives and works in Paris.
